A mother and her five children from Afghanistan have been welcomed to Australia by the Lismore Region Refugee Settlement group.
Lismore co-ordinator Anne Tuart said the family arrived in late July and was already enrolled in local schools and TAFE.
“They’re highly motivated,” Anne said. “They’re settling in well and are ready to start English classes. The children range in ages from 10 to 27. They’re attending Wyrallah Road Public School, Lismore High School and TAFE.”
