Since coming to power, the Taliban have placed more and more restrictions on women, to the point where they can’t even laugh in public. Now you can do something. Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) have provided letter-writing kits on their website to send to our Government and raise awareness.
RAR is a national peak body of refugee groups. RAR has a current campaign on postcards focusing on raising awareness to the Federal Government of the Taliban’s restrictions, such as banning girls from an education after age 12.
Go to Rural Australians for Refugees where you can find a range of letter-writing kits. If you have a spare hour or so, get in touch with the RAR team to send you some postcards to send to the Minister for Women and the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Northern Rivers For Refugees currently supports five people from Afghanistan who have or are in the process of seeking asylum.
