Taking Action
EventsVigils
BR4R holds vigils:
– to remember and respect refugees who have died
– on Palm Sunday each year in line with other refugee groups across Australia to make a statement that refugees are welcome
Speakers include refugees telling their stories, representatives from local and state government and refugee advocates and supporters. We are joined by singers and have listened to messages directly from people on Manus Island and Nauru.
In 2017, BR4R held a vigil on 19th July – four years since government policy was enacted that anyone seeking asylum and arriving by boat would never settle in Australia.
